Maintenance Tech

Steele, AL

This is a 1st shift position working Monday-Friday with occasional weekend overtime.

This Maintenance Tech positionlocated in Steele, AL is responsible for helping start up production by helping produce the product, while also helping maintain the equipment for our manufacturing alumnium scrap sorting operations. Thisrole will also help establish maintain a safety first mindset.

The ideal Mainteance Techcandidate should help:

  • Drive and develop the culture of Safety First

  • Help establish and **follow operational changes &standard practices.**

  • Work through** NFPA 70E System**

  • Inspect scrap material

  • Help manage scrap sorting equipment.

  • Inspect the working parts ofequipment to determine problem areas if breakdown occurs

  • Perform electricial and technical work on plant equipment.

  • Perform work on motors, wiring, and control cabinets

  • Inspect and repair Diesel Engines

  • Braze, weld, cut, solder, and mealize as required to repair, disassemble, assemble, and just hydraulic & pneumatic equipment.

  • Drive mobile equipment including forklift, front loaders, and mobile craines

This Mainteance Tech will support the overall business strategy as wwell as operational objectives focused on safety, health/environment, quality, productivity, & inventory.

If you are a diverse Mainteance Techwho:

  • Has a High School Diploma or Ged (required)

  • 3-4 years of previous work experience in industrial maintenance

  • Has electrical, mechanic, pneumatic, and diesel engine experience.

  • Has a working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing

  • Is proficient in computer usage and microsoft office

  • Can read and underand operations and parts manuls.

  • Can lift up to 50 punds ; drive mobile equipment

  • Has proven ability to function with minimal supervison

  • Is results and detailed oriented

  • Has previously worked with secondary Aluminum & scrap sorting (experience a plus but not required)

  • Has a working knowledge of aluminum process
